I’ve mentioned before that I play a fair number of mobile games. Partly because I quite like mobile as a platform, and partly because, while mobile games are often looked down on by “hard core” gamers, I find them engaging and filled with innovation.
Speaking of innovation, I was recently introduced to a mobile game called Augmentors. While on the surface it seems like a straightforward RPG fighter, it has a couple of things that make it stand out from the pack.
Lets start by taking a look at their teaser and I’ll show you what I mean.
Looks pretty standard right? Pretty but otherwise unremarkable. You choose a character, you throw spells at your opponent, you attack, you defend. Level up your character, fight through different levels against increasingly difficult levels.
But then… Then you discover that you can use your phone’s camera to make use of the AR functionality. You can define your arena within the real world, resize your character, rotate around them, basically battle fantasy characters within a real environment.
Ready for it to get even better?
What you don’t see in the trailer is the fact that this game does in fact contain a blockchain element.
